Ragnar Arro
Air Ventilation Technician
I’m Ragnar Arro, and I was born in Pärnu, Estonia. When I was less than a year old, I was diagnosed with sudden hearing loss, a rare condition with no clear cause. Since then, I have been deaf.
I studied for three years to become an auto painter at a vocational school in Estonia, but after moving to Finland in 2013, I struggled to find work in that field due to language requirements. I moved to Finland because my grandmother lived here. I attended Valkea Talo, a folk high school for the deaf, where I participated in an immigrant training program specifically designed for deaf individuals. The goal of this program was to promote general integration and improve skills necessary for further education.
For over six years, I worked as a hall assistant at Messukeskus. In 2020, I decided to retrain at Taitotalo, focusing on becoming a ventilation installer, cleaner, and maintenance technician.
I joined IVAeris for an internship, and at the end of my training, the CEO informed me that my colleagues considered me highly competent and a valuable team member, and they wanted to offer me a job. I gladly accepted the opportunity because I found the team to be incredibly friendly and supportive.
The CEO suggested that I continue my studies and further develop my skills, and with his encouragement, I am pursuing ongoing professional development.
