Air Ventilation Aeris Oy

Fingerspelling

When one of our air ventilation technicians, Ragnar, who is deaf, first joined us for an internship, we were excited but also a bit anxious about how it would go. But it didn’t take long for us to realize that this guy’s got the right attitude. Ragnar’s a beast at getting the job done, incredibly smart, and highly competent. There was no question in our minds that we wanted him on the team full-time. But there was still one challenge on the table—communication. We weren’t about to let that stand in the way of having someone as talented as Ragnar on our crew.

So, what did we do? We took action. We decided to invest in sign language training for the entire team. It wasn’t just about making communication easier; it was about making sure everyone on our team could connect, collaborate, and thrive together. Ragnar isn’t just another employee; he’s a key player in our operation, bringing value not only to us but to our clients as well. We wanted to ensure that communication flows smoothly and that every single one of our clients feels understood and respected. To make that happen, we partnered with Helsingin Kuuloyhdistys Ry to create a comprehensive sign language guide.

But we didn’t stop there. We went a step further and developed a fingerspelling training web application that you can access right here. We’re not just talking about learning a few signs; we’re talking about a real commitment to improving communication and promoting equality in the workplace. It’s this kind of initiative that sets IVAeris Oy apart. So, dive into our Fingerspelling: A Sign Language Learning Web Application. It’s simple, effective, and another way we’re breaking down barriers and building a more inclusive environment. Check it out below and start making a difference today!
